Ramanayake Automobiles (Pvt) Ltd., was started about 1974 as a local second –hand car company. The founders were Mr. K.P.W. Ramanayake and Mrs. N. Ramanayake. It is the hard work and the untiring effort of Mr.& Mrs. Ramanayake, for the last 35 –40 years that has brought –up the company to this state of excellence. At the start, there were about five employees on our staff. Most of the work was done on contract basis.

When Sri Lanka entered open economy in 1977, things changed and new companies started importing used vehicles from England, Singapore, Japan etc., in addition to the few existing brand new vehicle companies.
Ramanayake Automobiles (Pvt) Ltd; became one of the trusted pioneers in the whole Island of Sri Lanka of giving more encouragement to go forward, in the field of vehicle trade.
